The international telecommunications strategy of 4iG Group has been determined.

Róbert Budafoki becomes vice president of 4iG International, based in Tirana.

Robert Budafoki will be responsible for the Group's international telco portfolio and will also manage the integration of the Albanian subsidiaries ALBtelecom and ONE Albania. The new manager has a vast experience and broad expertise to support the growth of 4iG’s portfolio in the West Balkans.

4iG Group developed an international telecommunications strategy for the company that settles a new corporate governance structure. As of June 6th 2022 Róbert Budafoki is appointed as the Head of 4iG International, leading the international telecommunications portfolio of the Group. As a vice president of 4iG International, based in Tirana, his responsibilities include leading subsidiaries in the West Balkans: One Crna Gora in Montenegro, as well as ONE Albania and ALBtelecom in Albania. His primary task is to oversee the integration of Albanian subsidiaries. The Montenegro based premium mobile operator, One Crna Gora, became part of 4iG Group in December 2021. ALBtelecom, the third biggest mobile operator in Albania, market leader fixed voice, internet and TV provider, and ONE Albania, Albania’s second and fastest growing mobile operator, both joined the Group in March 2022.

Róbert Budafoki’s professional expertise consist of strategic planning, supervising complex situations, as well as managing integration of the Albanian companies. He has tremendous experience in B2B, “back to growth” strategy, digital transformation, corporate software, and cyber security. After graduating from the Budapest University of Technology as an electric engineer, he started his career in info-communications in 1991. Róbert Budafoki has been working in the telecommunications industry for several years. He was the CEO of T-Systems Hungary, CCO of Hungarian Telekom and VP Enterprise of Saudi Telecom Company.

He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology. He started his career at KFKI in 1991 as a computer system engineer, he worked at Olivetti as a system engineer, then as a product and customer manager from 1992. He was one of the founders of Cisco Systems Magyarország Ltd in 1995. He was its Managing Director from 1997. Later, from 2006, he was the Director of Partnership and Marketing for the Central and Eastern European region. He has been the founder and CEO of Central Europe On-Demand Zrt (CEOD), a provider of software and cloud computing services in eleven countries in the Central and South-Eastern European region (Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey) since 2008. From 1 June 2011, he became the Deputy CEO of Magyar Telekom, the head of the Corporate Services Business Unit (T-Systems), and from 1 October 2012, he held the position of the CEO of T-Systems Magyarország Zrt. From January 2014, he was the Acting Vice President, responsible for the corporate segment of Saudi Telecom Company. He worked as a senior consultant for the info-communication consulting firm Arthur D. Little between 2015-2020. He has been the Managing Partner of Cydrill Software Security since January 2019.
