The successful acquisitions of ONE Albania and ALBtelecom have created a market-leading group in fixed and mobile telecommunications services in Albania

The mobile operators’ market is changing by increasing competitiveness. Based on data from the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), it results that ONE Albania is growing significantly, reaching 41% of the market, from 37% at the end of 2020. In other words, at the end of the September, ONE counted 1.1 million subscribers.

The latest data from AKEP show that the total number of subscribers (sim cards) has increased by 15.1% from year to year and 8.6% compared to the last 3 months.

Telekom Albania is now ONE Albania and a new era starts for the first mobile operator in the country! The significant change was announced by its shareholders and the advantages are immediately tangible.

Elvin Guri, the major shareholder of ONE Albania, stated that his connection with the Albanian economy now becomes stronger than ever. “It is an honor for me as an investor to give back to my country. ONE Albania will become the company of all Albanians”.

Tirana, April 2^nd – UNDP Albania and Telekom Albania announced the launch of a partnership in support of the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic: “Spread the Word, not the Virus” Campaign.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has been selected by Telekom Albania as the sole supplier to modernize the service provider’s radio and core networks in a break-in deal spanning five years.

The announcement was made during the One Vision event organized by Telekom Albania, which was also attended by representatives from Ericsson and the Albanian government. Telekom Albania guided the guests through their 2020 transformation plans and showcased their significance to society, focusing on the best user experience in an increasingly data-hungry environment.

While the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are still tangible with an increasing number of infected persons in the last days in our country, the three telecommunications companies Telekom Albania, Vodafone Albania and Albtelecom have donated 40 respiratory devices worth 30 thousand euros to the Albanian health care system. These devices are needed to treat cases of respiratory complications, before intensive therapy for patients infected with coronavirus and more.
