While the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are still tangible with an increasing number of infected persons in the last days in our country, the three telecommunications companies Telekom Albania, Vodafone Albania and Albtelecom have donated 40 respiratory devices worth 30 thousand euros to the Albanian health care system. These devices are needed to treat cases of respiratory complications, before intensive therapy for patients infected with coronavirus and more.

Present at the ceremony to hand over these devices was Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mrs. Mira Rakacolli, who expressed her appreciation for this contribution of the telecommunications sector, taking into consideration the difficult circumstances that the health care system in the country currently faces. “I thank you on behalf of the Ministry of Health and all medical personnel, for the solidarity shown and the financial assistance and the necessary equipment provided by you for the people in these difficult times”, said Rakacolli, further adding that finding more of these devices has not been an easy task these couple of months, amid the world wide COVID-19 pandemic. "There has been a very high international demand, and the challenge for securing these devices has definitely been tough, as transport has also been limited. We are grateful to have them on time”, concluded Rakacolli.

Representatives of mobile operators stated that they decided to offer their own contribution, solidarity, thus showing responsibility as private companies to help the Albanian government in these difficult times. These devices will serve the public health system to help patients with other respiratory diseases, even after overcoming the pandemic situation.
