Albanians doubled their internet usage on the last night of the year, 76% increase in foreign visitors who used roaming services at the turn of the year.

As the clock struck 00:00 at the midnight of the new year, Albanians have chosen to share more and more joy and congratulations with their loved ones through the phone or social media, now an important part of our lives.

ONE Albania, the mobile operator that serves one in two subscribers in the country, shared in the early hours of 2024 the data on how Albanians communicated at the turn of the year.

According to One Albania data, Albanians chose the Internet to communicate with relatives or on social media, increasing the use of "data" services by 106% or doubling the use of data compared to a year ago. Phone calls were less popular, but still saw a slight increase of 5% compared to the same period last year.

Compared to a typical day in December, One Albania's network managed a remarkable 31% increase in voice traffic on December 31, 2023. Simply put: Fully 10.4 million calls were made perfectly.

Midnight Greetings reached 1.29 million users, marking an increase of 16,000 users from last year. Thus, One Albania ensured that every subscriber felt and shared the joy of this change of years.

The One Albania network also played an important role for foreigners, tourists or immigrants who visited relatives at the turn of the year. Roaming communication of visitors to our country marked an incredible increase of 76% from last year. A total of 148,000 visitors from the 83,400 that were counted a year ago used roaming services in the One Albania network.
