The Hungarian group 4iG is present in the markets of Albania and Montenegro in the field of telecommunications through ONE brand.

Budapest, Hungary – 4iG Group, a leading regional IT and telecommunications Hungarian company, is exploring opportunities to enter the North Macedonian telecommunications market.

The groups’s chairman, Gellért Jászai, met with North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport, Aleksandar Nikoloski, in Budapest to discuss potential cooperation.

4iG aims to leverage its expertise and success in the region to offer mobile and fixed services in North Macedonia. The company sees the move as a strategic step in expanding its footprint in the Western Balkans, following its recent entries into Montenegro and Albania.

We believe that 4iG's established track record in the telecommunications industry, combined with its regional expertise, can be effectively leveraged in the Macedonian market. This proposed initiative promises substantial benefits for both parties and could be particularly advantageous for the citizens of Macedonia, as both the country and 4iG Group share a common vision for a connected and digitally advanced society.” – added Aleksandar Nikoloski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport of North Macedonia.

During the official meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of digital infrastructure development for economic and social progress, while the Chairman of 4iG Group emphasized 4iG's commitment to the development of this infrastructure and expressed interest in investing in the most advanced technologies to expand and strengthen the network throughout North Macedonia. This initiative aims to improve the customer experience, create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

We are eager to contribute to the North Macedonian telecommunications sector and drive positive change through technology. To outline our ambition to enter the North Macedonian telecommunications market, in the next few weeks we will start working with the Government to formalize our commitment and detail this relationship further.” – said Gellért Jászai, Chairman of 4iG Group, following the discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister.

4iG’s expansion into the Western Balkans is part of its broader growth strategy. The company is also developing a high-capacity submarine data cable with Telecom Egypt to connect Egypt and Albania, a project that could further benefit North Macedonia.
